Ralf Rehak is a registered architect in Melbourne. He studied fine art (painting) before architecture and was also a professional sign writer for eight years. Currently he is undertaking a Master of Fine Art program at RMIT University. He has exhibited works in galleries in Melbourne and Canberra, and been engaged for various painting commissions. His current work explores themes around the spacial and material qualities of ‘Home’, in particular; how light, shadow and materiality can vary the perception of what and how the eye registers depth. As well as value issues around consumption, the discarded and reuse of building materials. Ralf also has a long history as a musician touring and recording with various artists, musicians and producers including J. Walker, Machine Translations, Ildiko, and Shane O’Mara.
